PAIRS 2026 at the India AI Impact Summit - January and February 2026

The 2nd edition of the International Participatory AI Research and Practice Symposium (PAIRS) will take place concurrent with the India AI Impact Summit. Like the first edition, which was an independent side-event of the Paris AI Action Summit in February 2025, and PAIRSx Africa, held online concurrent to the Global AI Summit on Africa in Kigali, this symposium will create a space to present research and case studies on the state of the art in participatory development and governance of AI and to build stronger connections across the field.

The first edition of PAIRS took place as an independent side-event of the Paris AI Action Summit (10th - 11th Feb 2025) providing a space to present research and case studies on the state of the art in participatory development and governance of AI, and to build stronger connections across the field.

A full day of panels, workshops and conversation with researchers and practitioners exploring democratic, deliberative and participatory public control over AI.
